After-school Art Lessons
Fridays from 4-5 p.m.
$35/month

The After-School Art Lessons are are geared toward students 2nd-8th grade. These classes are focused on strengthening technical skills in a variety of media and exploring how artistic expression shapes culture and careers worldwide.
These weekly classes are scaffolded to help students build on prior knowledge to create higher quality work. They are divided into 2-month sessions which will each conclude with a student art show reception and awards ceremony.
August-September
Drawing from Life & Illustrating from the Imagination
(focus on value shading, composition, learning to “see” with proportions and perspective, building skills in pencil, charcoal, ink, and watercolor technique)
October-November
Color Theory & Painting styles of the Masters
(focus on color mixing, color schemes, brush care, and building skills painting on paper and canvas)
December-January
Cultures Around the World
(Native American wampum loom beading, African masks, Greek mosaic, Japanese origami, Indian Mehndi hand art, ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics)
February-March
3D Sculpture & Design
(focus on creating forms in clay, paper mache, jewelry, and engineering basics)
April-May
Careers in Art
(Artists, Architects, Fashion design, Interior Design, Graphic Design, Illustration, special effects make-up artists, etc.)
